Overview

Matthew Bouillon Mascareñas is a securities and financial services attorney based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He began his career as an assistant district attorney in a small mountain town before developing an interest in Bitcoin while working as a state assistant attorney general on the US-Mexico border in 2014. In private practice since 2020, Matt enjoys deep dives into his favorite crypto projects, learning about different approaches to DAO governance, and staying abreast of the ever-changing US regulatory landscape. Matt currently represents both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation in state and federal courts and counsels digital asset projects, investment adviser representatives, and broker-dealers on an array of compliance matters.
In his free time, Matt enjoys freelancing as an ATA-certified translator from Spanish and Italian into English.
