Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

M&A refers to the consolidation of companies or their major business assets through financial transactions between companies. A company may purchase and absorb another company, merge “laterally” with it to create a new company, acquire some or all of its major assets, or make a tender offer for its stock. At IBL, our attorneys assist our clients with M&A transactions by providing advisory as to structuring and risks, as well as drafting and negotiating contracts for the purchases and sales of businesses (or portions thereof).
